Continuous Improvement & Six Sigma in Action

At InnoWav, we help businesses improve performance by identifying process inefficiencies, reducing waste and building more reliable ways of working. Our case studies highlight how practical continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and GEMBA can be used to solve real operational and commercial challenges.

Revenue Leakage Reduction

Protecting margin through better process control

A growing services business was experiencing revenue leakage due to missed billable work, inconsistent pricing application and manual billing adjustments. InnoWav reviewed the end-to-end billing process across sales, operations and finance to identify where revenue was being lost.

Using Six Sigma problem-solving methods, we mapped the process, measured error points and introduced clearer billing triggers, standardised job coding and improved handover controls.

Impact: Reduced billing errors, improved margin visibility and helped the business capture revenue that was previously being missed.

Sales Lead Quality Improvement

Improving conversion by focusing on the right opportunities

A B2B services company had a strong pipeline, but sales teams were spending too much time on low-quality leads. This created wasted effort, longer sales cycles and inconsistent conversion performance. InnoWav analysed lead sources, qualification criteria and conversion rates to identify where poor-fit leads were entering the pipeline. We then redesigned the lead qualification process and introduced clearer sales stage definitions.

Impact: Improved lead-to-meeting conversion, reduced wasted sales effort and created a more disciplined sales process.

Reporting Accuracy Improvement

Building confidence in management information

A client’s management reports contained inconsistent figures due to manual data handling, unclear source ownership and repeated spreadsheet adjustments. This reduced leadership confidence in the data and slowed decision-making.

InnoWav reviewed the reporting workflow, identified common defect points and introduced standardised data definitions, approval checks and improved reporting templates.

Impact: Reduced reporting errors, improved turnaround time and gave management greater confidence in business performance data.

Invoice Processing Error Reduction

Improving finance workflow accuracy and speed

A finance team was dealing with recurring invoice errors, duplicate entries and delayed approvals. These issues created unnecessary rework, supplier frustration and poor visibility over payment status. InnoWav applied a structured Six Sigma approach to measure error patterns, identify root causes and redesign the approval process. Improvements included clearer approval rules, standardised data entry and better exception handling.

Order Fulfilment Turnaround Improvement

Reducing delays and improving operational reliability

An operations team was experiencing inconsistent fulfilment times, with some orders completed quickly while others were delayed due to unclear handovers, manual checks and poor workload visibility. InnoWav mapped the fulfilment process, measured cycle-time variation and identified key bottlenecks. The improved process included standardised handover points, clearer work queues and daily performance tracking.

Impact: Reduced fulfilment delays, improved operational visibility and created a more reliable customer delivery process.

5S Workplace Organisation

Creating a safer, cleaner and more efficient workplace

A client’s workplace had become cluttered and inconsistent, causing staff to lose time searching for tools, documents and materials. The lack of standardised storage also created unnecessary movement and safety risks. InnoWav implemented a practical 5S program covering Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise and Sustain. This included removing unnecessary items, creating clear storage locations, introducing visual labels and setting up regular workplace audits.

Impact: Reduced wasted time, improved workplace safety and created a more organised environment for daily operations.

GEMBA Operational Review

Identifying bottlenecks where the work actually happens

A client’s management team believed delays were caused by system issues, but frontline staff reported that the main problems were unclear handovers, unnecessary movement and inconsistent task sequencing. InnoWav conducted structured GEMBA walks to observe the work directly, speak with frontline staff and identify practical improvement opportunities.

Impact: Revealed hidden bottlenecks, improved alignment between management and frontline teams, and created a clear action plan for operational improvement.

Kaizen Continuous Improvement Program

Turning small improvements into measurable performance gains

A client was experiencing recurring operational issues, but there was no structured way for staff to raise, prioritise or implement improvement ideas. InnoWav introduced a Kaizen improvement program focused on small, practical changes led by the people closest to the work. We helped the client create an improvement register, weekly review rhythm and clear ownership for action items.

Impact: Increased frontline engagement, reduced recurring process issues and embedded continuous improvement into daily operations.
